PARENTS CORNER AT EDIFY SCHOOLS!!

Parent School Partnership :

Parental Involvement at Edify School ranges from Reading together at Kindergarten ‘Read with me workshop’ to volunteering in classrooms as ‘Resource Parent’ , to getting involved when children are out on field trips. The benefits of Parental Involvement can be :

For parent better understanding of their Child’s school experience in order to build a closer parent-child bond.

For teacher Classroom & field trip support & better understanding of the child’s family roots.

For Students Increase in self confidence & self-esteem as they see their parent showing interest in their class activities. Children learn best when the significant adults in their lives – Parent, teacher and community members work together to encourage and support them. School alone cannot address all of the child’s developmental needs. Hence the meaningful involvement of parents support from the community is essential& staff to work together catering to an environment in which trust & mutual respect for each other can flourish. A student too gets a message of peace & begins to learn with ease when they see their parent & teachers engaged in a respectful manner for their progress. This is where 3C learner’s profile comes in & helps all concerned work on a common platform.

Resource Parent :

Parents are invited to share their experience and knowledge of their respective subject domain with our students during the inquiry. This helps the school to get a variety of resource people and also helps parents to spend time with students productively. For instance while an inquiry on communicable and non communicable diseases a member of the parent body from the medical profession is invited to share his expertise.

Coffee Morning :

We understand Parent anxiety when it comes to knowing about the growth of their child and the pedagogy followed in the school to enhance the growth. Hence the need for Coffee Morning. Parents are invited thrice a year in small groups for a casual interaction with the class facilitator to understand the teaching strategies applied in the school it is well said “a lot can happen over a cup of Coffee”.

Student Lead Conference(SLC) :

What better way to know your child’s progress than hearing it from them in their own creative way.

Students maintain their purposeful collection in portfolio. This helps the students in becoming self-assessors. The portfolio is shared by the students with the parent in a Student-Led Conference. This conference allows the students to play an active role in reporting the progress to their parents. The students also put – up an Exhibition in which they showcase their unit of Inquiry which focuses on the global issues.

Home Parent Teacher Meeting (HPTM) :

Edify School firmly believes that the teacher’s role in the student’s life is not limited to the confines of the classroom. Twice a year teachers visit students’ residences to get a feel for their milieu and social background. This helps them in bond with the children and their families and helps in their interactions with the children. At Edify School students perceive their teachers as friends first and then as learning facilitators. This ensures a warm and friendly environment where students are at ease.

Parent Teacher Meeting (PTM) :

Parent teacher meetings are held atleast thrice a year in which the teachers describe how the students perform and behave in the class & parents provide their perspective. The meetings are well planned and provide ample time for teachers to interact with every parent individually.

Events Exhibitions :

The school hosts varied events like parents day, Grand Parents day, parent competitions, 3C exhibitions where parents and family are invited not just as spectators but as participants.

Grand Parents reliving their childhood days with their little ones.

Children displaying their thoughts on Global issues through project work at the 3C exhibition
